Brunch at the Brixton

I've been wanting to go to The Brixton on Union St. for a while now and the other weekend I finally got to go! This place is not only a great brunch spot, but its also a great place to grab a drink on a weekend. They have seats indoors and outside and huge doors that open to the street.
It was such a nice day so we decided to sit out on the patio. We got mimosas, of course, and I tried their eggs benedict.
Really wanna go back!

Fam goes to Sausalito and the Embarcadero

I did so much while my family was here that I have to break it up into multiple. Nothing is ever dull when they are around, thats for sure.
I decided to take them for a stroll along the Embarcadero, the street that runs all along the water, for some people watching and to check out the Ferry Building. We walked for a few miles from Fisherman's Wharf all the way down, past Pier 23 to Pier 1 which is where the Ferry Building sits.

Along the way we stumbled upon the farmers market, some quotes etched into the sidewalk and of course, the annual naked bike race. It wouldn't be SF if we hadn't stumbled upon that.
On a nice day I definitely recommend taking a stroll down the Embarcadero!

My fam also took a trip over to Sausalito (where I work) and came out to lunch on the bay. It was kinda chilly but it was so fun to show them where I work and hang out on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Of course we ended our night with an outing to North Beach at Tony's Pizza (to die for) and had a great view of Coit Tower all ready for St. Patty's day.
I can't wait for their next visit!

Cinco de Derby

When you live somewhere like San Francisco you have to celebrate every little holiday that exists, especially when its a nice day. Sooo of course, last weekend my friends and I met up for brunch and celebrated Cinco de Mayo while at a Kentucky Derby watching party.

One day I would like to go to the actual Kentucky Derby just for the experience, but this SF version was my cup of tea. My horse, Sabercat,  totally lost, but I wasn't sad because.....

let's just say my day consisted of a grilled cheese bar, mimosa bar, tequila, mint juleps, summer dresses, large hats and 75 degree weather. Not a bad Saturday if you ask me.

The best part?
Of course the grilled cheese bar and tequila... :)

Can't wait for next year!

Fam goes to the MIssion & Castro

I had the best time with my family in SF!
 We did it all.
One of the more entertaining parts of the trip was taking them to Dolores Park where they got to hang with the true hipsters. While in 'The Mission' we made our way to the famous 'Bi-Rite Creamery' and had the most incredible ice cream I've probably ever had. The line was long, but apparently it's usually wayyy longer so we got super lucky! We ended our trip with a venture over to 'The Castro' where we saw our fair share of nudity for the day.
Oh, how I love SF! Experiencing it with my family is even better.

Vintners Market Number 2

It's so interesting experiencing a brand new city and actually doing everything the locals do. I have lived here for about 9 months {wowza} now, but sometimes I get so excited about all the events that it feels like my first day in the city.

One of my favorite things to do, as you can probably tell, is going to wine events. The fact that wine country is so close to SF really makes for wonderful tasting events on a budget.

This was my second trip to the SF Vintner's Market held at Fort Mason. Wineries from all over California come to pour and typically we end the day feeling great! I've decided that the Vintner's Market is my favorite wine tasting event in SF so far! Highly recommended.

Golden Gate Park afternoon

Lately, lady SF has been heating up.. and these past few weekends have been nothing less of amazing. When it's nice outside the whole city comes out and you almost feel bad if you don't go outside to enjoy the sun all day. So, my friends and I decided to head to Golden Gate Park, after brunch of course, to enjoy the beautiful day. We spent the whole day walking through the park all the while enjoying the sites, scenery, and people. It is such an amazing place--probably one of the coolest i've parks I've been in. Not only is there a Japanese Tea Garden, huge museums and paddle boating, but there are bison (literally) roaming around in the middle of the park. I mean, how do you top that?
Cannot wait for another sunny afternoon in Golden Gate!
